Ade Bakare
releases a new collection of ankara and adire dresses and separates for summer
2016, he was inspired by photos he saw of his mother and her friends how they
dressed in the 1950s. Floral print dresses fitted at the upper part and
flowing from the waist down, this was a direct influence from what was called
the NEW LOOK created by the French couture designer Christian Dior of Paris.
This look was a great hit and soon spread all over the world,
looking through the old family album photos, Ade Bakare said he could see the
influence and decided to take a major risk by recapturing this look in modern
ankara for the new range. Ade Bakare has designed beautifully cut dresses with
touches of elegance with silk organza neck sashes and lace panels, short
blouses, knee length jackets and trousers dresses with neck frills and full
skirts in this exciting new collection.
Adire is also used from different parts of west Africa such as
Ghana, Mali and indeed Nigeria. The colour palette of vibrant deep
oranges, sea blues, grass greens and sunflower yellows are some of the hues
available in the range, there is also the buba wrap dress made with lace upper
part and wrap from the bust line down, an exciting range for summer 2016.
